02 August 2011

Hello Specs,

Squad ops began at 9:15 EST.   We upped heavy P-51’s from A231 and flew West to attach Bishop base A232.   We took along 75% gas, thousand pounders, and rockets.

Fuze’s persistent training did us proud,  we knocked out the entire base with the exception of bomber hangers; simply because there wasn’t enough of us to take them down.   Ordinance, VH, and all three fighter hangers went down though- in short order.    The enemy upped in mass in A-20 Havocs, and the hunt was on.  Several Specs scored kills, and with the cooperation of a nearby CV group, it looked promising that we could have taken the base……   except:   it didn’t happen that way.  We continued to up either from the CV or from A231 with ordinance, but we just couldn’t knock it out.

When I logged around 10:00 EST, we were nowhere even close to taking that base.   I don’t know if it fell or not, but I will say that we did our part.  The Specialists threw a strong punch, but we couldn’t capitalize on it unfortunately, enemy resistance was unusually stiff, but it was fun nonetheless.

I believe the Specialists in attendance were:   Seal, Sku, Feldjaeg, Swoose, Joker, Engr, RTS-6, and Luft- I hope I didn’t leave anyone out.

Next week,  Swoose is going to come up with a mission, looking forward to that!

I will make attempts this week to get my VOX back up, it may be as simple as going into the on-line settings and picking things out, but I’ve been struggling with it for awhile now, especially since the hard drive crash.

Very special thanks to all that flew, see ya next week.

~ Milt
