2 Big and Too Heavy

Hello Specialists <S>
There was a battle between enemy A155 and our A154. I think our base was 154 but never took off there so not absolutely positive and I know 155 was enemy but I never really noticed if it was Bishop or Rook. I know we had five Specialists to work with, just enough to put a serious hurt on a small field and 155 was a small one. The enemy had strength in the sector so we assembled north or there at A138. The plan included P-47Ns fully armed with 75% fuel with the exception to 'fully' being the smaller ammo load-out with the eight 50 cals. The twist for today was all using the same skin, the 318FG/333FS I believe it was. I think something went askew in my choice as I ended up with a different skin :o)

We took-off SW and climbed some before we turned left to SE heading and continued our climb. Staying out of radar range we climbed to a position NE of the base and came in about 12k alt. There was a high enemy CAP so we did have to dive slightly on our attack. We hit 155 hard taking down the vehicle hanger and two of three fighter hangers.

We proceeded to up 138 again with the only change in load-out being a fuel reduction to 50% and an option to FOC if you wanted to. We headed inbound to finish off the last fighter hanger and destroy a few other things. The hanger was hit and other ordinance was dropped on the town with numerous structures being reduced to rubble. Due to timing issues the fighter hangers regenerated rather quickly, I'm sure with re-supply assistance.

We then took off from a nearby CV to sweep the area a little. RTS upped early in an F6F before orders went out and the rest of us followed in Seafires. We ran into a determined enemy about 6 miles from 155 and engaged. There seemed to be a trickle of inbound enemies to keep us busy. The Seafire flights continued and at one point we had serious issues with the Admiral when he turned the CV and a few of us went into the drink.

A rather large contingent of Knights did come into 155 from 154 but I don't think it was a serious effort to capture the base. The clock thinned us out and I logged leaving Joker to close up shop.

Minimum damage recorded:
Fuzeman- VH, 2Ks, 2 gun positions.
Joker- FH, K, 13 town buildings.
Luft- received a "butt full of Buckshot"
RTS- FH and Ammo bunker.
Seal- FH, 3K, 10 town buildings.

Pictures:
1) Forming up on climbout.
2) CO gets the best nose-art :o)
3) Hazardous approach.
4) Pressing the attack.
5) CO trying to clear Joker's six.
6) Can't get much closer and not hit.
