Greetings!

This week's squad night was a wild ride and a lot of fun.  How wild was it?  Let's just say I forgot to take some notes that I should have.  ;-)

The evening started out early, although I do not recall exactly when as I spent some time in the TA practicing (and filming) a few maneuvers.  When I had enough of that I moved to the MA where I found Fuze and RTS on line.  Fuze had stopped in to see what was going on and let anyone who was already there know he would not be flying tonight due to the 'flu.  Before logging off he told us to have fun and I think we succeeded very well.

Shortly after Fuze logged off both Luft and Plus arrived and since RTS was already working A5 and was heading back, we decided to go along to serve, protect, and add to the carnage.  Luft brought along a formation of B24's while Plus had a P38J heavy and I had a 51D heavy.  I do not know what RTS was flying  but I would not be surprised if it was another formation of Liberators.  RTS had chosen A21 as it started us out at 10,000 feet so the bombers did not have to spend time grabbing alt.

RTS had a head start on us and the rest of us flew out somewhat as a group but we became separated on the way and when we arrived the scene was complete chaos.  A5 had already been hit, probably by RTS, and there were quite a few defenders over the field.  I really do not know what was going on with everyone else but I did get a few damage reports, hear a couple of bail out, a couple of kills confirmed as etc.  For my part I wasted no time in dropping my bombs and then spent most of my time diving in, missing my target, and climbing back up.  At one point even though I missed my target, my attack was good enough to cause my opponent to sharply break away from the other Knight he was saddling up.  the fun and games came to an end though as I was started to head back North to join back up with Plus when I came across another Knight in trouble and dropped in to assist.  I didn't get any hits then and wound up going down but I do have the consolation of knowing it took three of them to box me in long enough to finish the job.

After this we made another run on A5 but it was just getting too hot so we changed plans and decided to take the fight to A85.  We decided to continue to use A21 as a base of operations as there was little enemy presence in that sector and we left in heavy FOC.  Since RTS was driving a Pony we went up to 18k and as we were en route Lees and RBS arrived and joined in.  Again I don't know how well the others did as I compressed on my dive and slammed into one of the bomber hangers (I should have gotten some credit for that ;-) ) after putting my bombs and rockets on target.  As I was coming back Lees pointed out that A80 was getting hammered so the plan was changed.  Those who still had ordinance were to complete their drop and then head to 80 to aid in the defense, everyone else was to head off to 80 but it was taken before we could do much and I entered into a string of frustrating defeats which almost caused me to call it a night but I decided to keep flying and wound up ending on a high note.

After the fall of 80 we started flying out of other fields and ended up defending 76.  During this defense Lees went over to 80 and put their barracks out of action to make it harder for the enemy to get grunts to 76.  While Lees was taking the fight to them RTS, RBS, and myself were aiding the defense at 76.  Eventually I broke the streak of shoot-downs and managed to turn the tables on one pilot who had shot me down twice.  It felt good although the other guy was pretty sharp in his FW190D and I had to work on it in my P38L.  This was going to be my last flight as I had been online almost three hours and as I was coming in to land I spotted a very low 110 and bolted and entered pursuit.  The 110 pilot vulched one Knight and did some damage before he slammed into a stand of trees giving me a prox kill.  I landed my two kills, realized that despite parts of it when it felt like I was accomplishing nothing that I had a great time and logged off leaving RBS defending 76 in a GV.

Here are the tallies for the evening that I am aware of:

Lees - C2, all barracks at A80, and 3 Lancasters
Luft - 3 HF, 1 BH
RTS - 1 Hurricane, 1 unknown kill, 2 BHs, 2 FHs, 109, B24 (from an Ostie)
Skeksis - 1 BH, 1 FH, 1 field gun, 190D, 110

This was a great evening and it felt great to get involved in so many different things.  Salute and congratulations to everyone who was flying, you all did a great job and dealt out a lot of hurt and I am already looking forward to next week! :-)
