*Specialists* Raid on 154 - AAR

On login there was quite a fight around Knight 163[?] and Bishop A154 which we
mostly joined in as we logged in. When Swoose decided to run a mission it was to
continue the attack in some bombers with escorts. We reported to A168 for
takeoff with a mix of B-17s and escort of choice. The 17s were loaded up with
25% fuel and 6x1000lb bombs and the escorts were loaded up with 75% fuel or 50%
and a DT. Escorts were made up of a mix of P-51, P-38, Ta-152 to name just a
few.
We took off NW from 163 and proceeded to climb northwest. About 10 miles out
we made a turn to due north and continued the climb. A few late commers upped
168 to join us. When we were due west of the target we made a 90 degree turn to
the east heading 090 and continued the climb, trying to form up as we went. The
main body of 17s leveled off at around 11k altitude and continued east and still
trying to form up. After we overflew 163 we encountered sporadic enemy fighters
but nothing in strength or organized. This defense became a little stronger as
we neared the target, the fighter hangers of Bishop A154. Escorts scared away
most of the enemy fighters except for a determined few. The group was spread out
pretty good but did manage to hit each and every fighter hanger at A154 shutting
down the fighters there. A circling turn to the north with a reverse in course
to around 240 setup a RTBto A163 which had calmed down enough to land our bomber
group and escorts.
