Mid-War Arena

Hi Guys,

I think Mid War Arena, MWA,  was a good place to fight. A larger plane selection and also GVs. Thats one problem with the Early War Arena, EWA, the T-34 is almost immune to damage, even by another T-34.
On to the battle:
1) First, apologies for my early exit. No matter how strenuous or loud I say 'Tuesday is flight night' people hear it as 'Dave says we should only ask him to do stuff or bother him between 9 and 10pm on Tuesday' and last night was internet security regarding firewalls and AV stuff.
2) The front line of yesterdays fight was moving soooooo fast it was tough to keep up. As soon as I announced a target we'd loose a base and another 'Hot Potato Target' would pop up.

We initially started off C57, I think it was 57, flying west to A22 but the CV was already in a hornets nest of activity and in dire straights. Admiral Gilligan was at the controls of C57 and definately sailed it into harm's way. Needless to say it was sunk but we, that's we as in Knights side not specifically our squad, did manage to sink the enemy CV that was attacking it. WE then rolled from A23 to A22 to continue the attack but there was radio chatter that A49 was under attack. The enemy was striking deep into our territory. As people started showing up I changed the attack from 22 to hit the barracks and vehicle hanger at A30 to stop the attack at A49.
For clarification I'll use 'we' referring to Knights and 'WE' referring to The *Specialists*.
Before we took down the barracks at A30 they captured A49 so that became the Hot Potato Target, HPT, and it opened up enemy attacks at A53 and V69. I changed tactics to takeoff at A53 and head south to hit A49 barracks and vehicle hanger. With the rapid pace of the enemy attack we got strung out slightly and became fragmented. However WE were still able to put up a good fight in my opinion. WE managed to hit the barracks at A49 but the enemy already had troops rolling and they did manage to capture V69, a further penetration into our territory. Adding insult to injury V69 was captured with barracks and vehicle hangers up so they enemy contunued on unabated. V69 opened up A48, a high altitude base to the east, and the enemy pressed the attack there. Needless to say V69 became the latest HPT with the barracks there the hottest potato. WE rolled an M3 with troops from A48 to V69 and asked for some help with the enemy at V69. WE converged on V69 but in the mean time the enemy keep steam rolling east and captured A48. Needless to say A48 barracks and vehicle hanger became a HPT also. With The *Specialists* capping V69 WE rolled the M3 onto the base and disembarked the troops near the maproom and captured the field. WTG guys <S>.
At this point I had to exit [ insert many cuss words ]!!! One of our best turnouts in recent weeks and the bonehead CO goes on 'vacation' early.
I did stop in after a short break and noticed we had recaptured A48 and pretty much stopped the enemy penetration into our turf on the northern front.
I believe the other enemy was doing something similar on the eastern front because I remember seeing that A44, another high altitude very strategic base, had been captured. I concentrated our attacks on the northern front however.
The action described above was only the first 30 minutes of squad night and I'm sure stuff happened that I missed in the last half of it. Of course not being there I can't really give any details. If someone wanted to continue they could but I think you get the picture we saw quite a bit of action on 19 September.

Hope you all had fun <S>
<CO> fuzeman
