The Bishops Hive
(webmaster note: lots of pics
below.
The page needs time to load)
Five Specialists lined up their B26's on
the runway for a run at the Bishops hornets nest. The goal? Stir up a typhoon at
A128.
Lead by Joker, we cranked up our engines
and started our rollout. Joining Joker were RTS, Skunk, ENGR, and Luft.
These 5 sets of bombers gave us a total of fifteen including the drones. That
would be plenty of firepower to stir them up if we could get them through. Right
after the mission rolled Ditto joined us in a fighter for escort.

Forming up on Joker

15 B26-B's X 4 eggs each (1000 lbs each) =
60,000 lbs of payload.

Chit-Chat & target assignments while
crossing the pond.

Dialing in our eggs

The Knights had just captured A128 so
Joker called off the strike. We overflew it and raided the Bishop field past the
2nd mountain in the distance instead. That really got them mad.

Approaching enemy target. They were not
expecting 15 Buffs at the field they needed to retreat to.

Skunk getting ready to drop his pickles
on the Bishops

The Bishops launched a massive Typhoon
retaliation raid moments after the strike.
The mission film posted below captures the moment when they launched. You can
jump into their cockpit and watch the roll down the runway. Upon playback of the
film it became apparent that we were completely unaware of their launch except
by a huge red bar on the DAR BAR (Radar).

We obviously missed a fighter hangar on
the drop

The Specialists were still in their
B26B's and were returning to base when the Typhoons arrived.

Luft was hit but managed to bail out to the pastures below
safely.

Luft reporting the incoming enemies position

Ditto was hit (looks like he was HO'd)

Joker was hit
(looks like he was HO'd)

ENGR was hit real hard by a close-up with a Typhoon

RTS was trying to land his P47 Jug when the raid arrived.

Half of his right wing was missing!

Using his expert aviator skills, he was able to set her
down and exit on the runway!
WTG RTS!
A jug isn't easy to fly with half a wing gone.

We all upped in our FOC to defend the field (A128) (See film below)

Keeping an eye on the map room.
