Carrier Ops & Field Capture
Specs,
We had several nice happenings today. A Specialist from the past flew with us
this evening. Trapper it was nice seeing you up flying tonight.
The second was that Hi5 has been added to the active email list. It won't be
long and he will get the urge to fly with us again. :)
I was a little late tonight but the XO SEAL had everyone ready to go on CV 242.
The plan was to be a SBD-5 dive bomb attack on an enemy cv escorted by heavy
F6F-5's.
But being Specialist and flexible Specialist at that, we all upped heavy F6's to
hit the airfield at A240.
Except for a few Knight ground vehicles hitting the town at A240, the Spec's
were the only Knights hitting 240. The vehicle hangar was down and we took out
the fighter hangers in short order. It was a good attack.
This rallied the other Knights and we had a full fledge assault going at 240.
Looked like the Knights were not going to capture 240, the town was popping, But
Fuze in a 8 inch gun on the battleship, and SEAL calling the range helped take
the town down. The rest of the Spec's capped the airfield and A240 was captured.
We then meet at A59 for a fighter sweep in F4U-1A's to the enemy port P61. The
enemy had 2 cv's at P61 and resistance was stiff with many enemy fighters.
Specialists present tonight were Fuze, Joker, RTS, SEAL, Swoose, Trapper, Luft, and
myself.
