Attack on the oil fields of Ploesti

Gentlemen,
The target for Tuesday nite will be the oil fields at Ploesti.
Aircraft will be B24J's with 25% fuel, load out will be qty 12, 250 lb bombs. 2
salvos of 6 bombs each.
There will be 3 flights of attacking aircraft;
White 1, lead is Sku, attacking the Romana Americana refinery
White 2, lead is Seal, attacking the Concordia Vega refinery
White 3, lead is RTS, attacking the Standard Petrol refinery
This will be a nape of the earth attack, to catch the enemy by surprise,
climbing to drop altitude shortly
before reaching the target.
Takeoff will be the standard 15 minutes after the hour.

Darks and OverSire, good to have you guys onboard.
The mission may have been a little tough for your first squad night but you did
well.
With Darks and OverSire present, we had had 12 Specialists for tonights mission,
a good turnout.
The target for the nite was 2 oil refinery's, deep inside bishop territory.
Squad was divided into 2 attack forces under the command of Seal and RTS.
Seal's group was composed of 12 B24's flown by himself, Darks, Luft and Fuze.
Escort was 2 P51's flown by Ditto and OverSire.
RTS's group had 18 B24's flown by himself, Swoose, Joker, Milt, Engr and Sku.
Escort was a P51 flown by Fulltilt.
Seal's group flew about 3 1/2 sectors into enemy territory, while RTS's group
was about 5 sectors deep into the badlands. Both groups flew NOE to the target.
Losses were minimal and according to the Intelligence Officer, the refinerys
were 56% damaged.
Unfortunately, this means 44% of the refineries were undamaged and this means
another trip to the Ploesti oilfields
at a later date.
