A.T.R.
(After Training Report)
9-7-2010

Training was very basic and not in depth at all. It can be difficult to get three groups of people doing the same thing at a time so the commands match what we're all doing. Something like this might be better to put out a more in-depth email with instructions to do or better yet an Arena Message that each group could follow. We may try that next month.

I basically touched on two concepts. A wrong way to maneuver to help your wingman clear your tail, flying right toward his direction. And then a right way to maneuver to help wingman clear your tail, making a 90 degree turn and setting up the enemy for a shot by wingman. The altitude difference I had us at wasn't the best situation either in hindsight. It was brought up who should be the main communicator in the dance. The high or offensive wingman may have a better perspective in this situation and is possibly the better one to direct break turns and direction .The critical thing is to have a short, accurate method of exchanging information or telling a wingman what to do. I check6 sent could also be a possibility of the radio is cluttered. The pair could agree that when you send your wingman a check 6 while engaged it means break.
Ideally this is also something worked on over time with a set wingman which is tough for us to do also with varying attendance week to week.

(webmaster note: Excellent job Fuze! As usual, it was not only fun but we learned something new and honed our skills. Keep up the great work! - Luft)
