Yes I know, still no AAR from last week and now I'm most likely saying this one will be delayed to.
Even thouogh we were in a fighting arena last week I'm going to just post the Training stuff that we went over and no battle reports.
Last night we did work on the 8" Triples versus enemy task groups. I wanted to get some shore battery, SB, work in but I looked around different fields for 10 minutes. I don't think there is a single SB in the Training arena.
We also did some 5" anti aircraft practice and finished off with some torpedo work in TBMs. Time was getting short there and I lost vox which I didn't figure out for too long a time.
Bet you guys enjoyed the peace and quiet :o)
After the torpedo stuff we did go through some carrier takeoffs and traps and I showed my technique for carrier landings. We also mentioned the 'trim set' command, a relatively new key command which is by default the period key, and how it worked. Specifically related to cv traps when you drop flaps with combat trim, CT, the plane has a  tendency to want top get that nose up. Once flaps are down and you compensated with stick forward to keep the plane level if you hit trim set it trims the plane so you do not have to kept hat stick push forward to fly level. It considers the current position of your stick and rudder and trims your plane for level flight so theoretically you can release the stick and fly relatively straight and level. A very nice command for F4U traps and even when landing them at airfields.

Have a good one,
Dave 'fuzeman'

PS: Again, any questions on stuff we went over do not hesitate to ask. Hopefully most will be covered when I write up my reports.
