AAR 11 January 2011

Night started out with divebombing practice in the TA spawning out of Bishop A22 and 23. After a few practice drops we moved over to TT for some real action.

Knights were attackingh A102 in strength but Rooks were puting up a stiff defense. Trying to distract some of the defense we planned to attack A117 and then head over to A102 to assist. We assembled at A101 and loaded out P-51D Mustangs with 75% fuel, 2x1000lb bombs and 6 rockets. The squad took off and climbed southeast to gain some altitude. Plan was to disable all fighter hangers at 117 and then move over to help the attack at A102. We were unable to destroy all FHs at 117 and in the mean time quite a few Rooks took off from 117 to defend. Plan was changed to keep attacking 117 to get remaining FHs down and fight there as a small battle had begun. We eventually did manage to get all FHs down but by then the timing was off and they started popping back up. We continuted to make attack runs from 101 to 117. Rooks tried to eliminate 101 as a threat and attacked it in strength knocking down all FHs. We shifted out takeoffs to other close bases primarily using A116. Rooks were trying to capture 101 and had a white flag and many goons were reported in the area of 101. The Specialists with other Knights help found at least two goons and dispatched both. We continued defending 101 with other's help and the Rook attack subsided. We then started over and began to attack 117 again. Somewhere in there the Knights actually did capture 102 and that attack force partially started to attack A117. We also attacked a CV that was steaming around between 102 and 117.

Highlights of the night;
[1] Ditto again managed to land a 6pack. I didn't notice what plane type he was flying, possibly a Fw 109A8.
[2] Numerous Specialists landed 2 or 3 kills during the evening.
[3] A102 was captured by the Knights.

And to follow the second slice of bread. Working some more on the Van.
