Welcome Back Trapper

Hello guys,

This is the brief debrief after June 7th squad night. To my knowledge not much happened before the top of the hour. Our first sortie was underway, I had gone AFK to put a fan in the window, using low flying formations of Boston bombers from A116 to A117. These are fast light bombers and we proceeded to 117 without incident. Not sure how much damage was inflicted because we were new to low level bombing like this, personally I know I dropped late. We then got into a low fight with enemy from 117 and had the downed pilots jump in as gunners as needed. It turned out to be quite fun so we rolled again with minor changes. We flew A20s instead of Boston’s, yes a plane change isn't a minor thing but the Boston and A20 are variants of the same plane basically. Most loaded up with 4x500lb bombs in the bay and another 4 on the wings. Joker's ground crew couldn't figure out how to attach the bombs to the wing mounts so he took Boston’s again.

This time we climbed up to about 5k for another low level attack on A117 which was @3.5k altitude. We came in steady so Joker could calibrate while the others popped up in their A20s to have some altitude to play with in their dive bomb attacks. Again a small mêlée ensued with the fighters @117 after ordinance was dropped. Again I'm not positive what others hit so I wont turn this into a fuze hit this and that report. There were other Knights pressing the attack some and we couldn't ever clear it out so we decided to try a fighter sweep to see what developed.

Focke Wulf’s were the plane of choice and we upped D9s and A5s, well one A5 and headed for 117. We were supposed to load DTs but RTS's ground crew was bombed and loaded a 500kg bomb instead. We later learned that the base had an illegal still and they were using RTS's DT as a place to store it. Good thing too, that moonshine is so powerful it would've blown the cylinder head clean off. RTS was threatened with KP duty but the CO figured those 'city boys' don't know ‘nuthin ‘bout peeling taters so no KP was inflicted. RTS being lower fuel than the main body was cleared to go ahead and see what enemies were scurrying about. We came in at 12-14k altitudes and proceeded to engage the bandits. We really should have stayed higher but we got slightly lower and slower and eventually were reincarnated back at the tower. Another FOC sortie was flown from 116 to 117 again as the night was getting later and my memory banks were getting filled.

After 'that', 'this' happened and then some more of 'that', with a side of 'what the heck happened there' to spice up the night. Not that we came close to the antics of TC3 in his A26 but it was similar, the plane type.. NOT what we did in it. Those A20Gs are nimble for their size. Bad part is no side by side seating for the beer keg in the co-pilots seat.

Pilots in attendance throughout the night were:
fuzeman, RTS, Seal, Luft, Joker, Trapper, Skeksis [despite some nagging hardware snafu], and RBS. It feels like I'm forgetting a name of two :o( I did some filming so maybe a name will be added after I go thru them.

The dog ate my BDA so no damage reports. Also, the only film rolled was of takeoff rolls, not much action there. I could post the takeoff when I jumped the gun with Trapper sitting on the runway in a damaged plane and called for a takeoff roll. Apologies Trapper.

Trapper on the roll

So ended the Tuesday night saga. Next Tuesday I get to see the dentist after not seeing one for 3 years. I know it's not going to be nice, cavity in front tooth and a BIG hole on the upper right and smaller crater on bottom left where fillings or parts of teeth have fallen out back by the molars. Might be able to call me mumbles next week but I don't think they're going to do much, probably just laugh at the way this bonehead 'cares' for his toothy’s.

Luft Note:

Welcome back Trapper! For those who might not know Trapper, he flew with the *Specialists* as far back as Air Warrior 1 in 1997! It's good to see old friends back after all these years.

Good Hunting!
