We gathered in TT to find a battle in progress for the Rook base A148.
We then rolled four formations of B-17's plus six escort P-51D fighters under MILT's command
southwest from A117 about 3 sectors north of the battle area.

On the way to the target we were fortunate to encounter no enemy fighters, and we made our
inital run over the target relatively unhindered at a bombing altitude of 14k.
As we egressed south of the target a large group of defenders came up to intercept us, which
kept our escort group extremely busy. Despite being outnumbered we managed to score a
number of kills, and swung around for the suicide part of the run back over the base.
I got shot down just before my drop on that run so I didn't get all the details, but A148 was
completely closed down after our attack.

By this time the Knights had renewed their attack on A148 and a large furball developed over the
target. We came back mostly in heavy FOC to keep up the pressure on their hangars and to
help keep them pinned down to the base.
The town was eventually destroyed, and Swoose snuck a C-47 in from the west side of town to
deliver troops.
The base was captured finally, but the Rooks immediately brought many gv's up from the spawn
just south of the town for a very determined recapture effort.
We ended up the evening fighting off mostly Wirbels ( and a few pretty good ones too ) until they
finally gave up on retaking the base.

As usual, very nice job by the Specialists which helped to advance the Knight position.
